The story
In 2004, I was laid off from a franchise company. The rug got pulled out, and I had a choice: climb another corporate ladder that could disappear again, or take control of my future in a way I had never considered. An introduction to FranChoice changed everything. I realized how many people were feeling the same way I did, and how few of them had a guide they could trust.
Over the past 20+ years, I have helped many candidates transition from uncertainty to confidence. Corporate executives. Military veterans. Second-career professionals. People who just knew they wanted something of their own. Some have invested in senior care services. Some in children's enrichment or services for pets. Some in businesses they had never heard of a month before they met me.
What they all have in common is this: they did not go it alone. Franchising is a big decision, and it deserves a guide who will tell you the truth, even when the truth is 'not this one'. That is the work I do.
"I work one on one with candidates who are ready to learn what owning a franchise actually looks like."
A few examples
Some of the people I have worked with.
Every candidate's situation is unique, and each person comes with their own skills and goals. The list below is illustrative, not exhaustive. If you do not see yourself in it and franchising is on your mind, the conversation still starts the same way.

- Women returning to work after a break
- Entrepreneurial spirits looking for a head start
- People who have been downsized

The origin story · in her own words
From Corporate Setback to Career Freedom: My Journey into Franchise Consulting
In 2004, I found myself at a crossroads. The company I worked for—ironically, a franchise brand—underwent a downsizing, and like so many others in the corporate world, I was left facing an uncertain future. I had spent years building a successful career, only to have the rug pulled out from under me.
I had a choice: scramble to find another job and continue climbing a corporate ladder that could disappear at any moment or take control of my future in a way I had never considered before.
That’s when the power of relationships changed everything.
Doors Open Where You Least Expect
Because of the relationships I had built over the years, an unexpected opportunity landed in my lap—an introduction to FranChoice. I hadn’t set out to become a franchise consultant, but as I learned more, something clicked.
I realized that, just like me, so many people were feeling stuck in jobs where their security was dependent on someone else’s decisions. They wanted something more—more control, more flexibility, more reward for their hard work—but they didn’t know where to start.
I had spent years working with franchise owners, supporting their growth, and seeing firsthand how the right business model could change lives. Now, I had a chance to help others step into ownership with the guidance I wished I had when I was first exploring my next move.
What I Learned Along the Way
Franchising isn’t for everyone, but for those who are the right fit, it can be a game-changer. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve helped hundreds of people transition from uncertainty to confidence, from frustration to fulfillment. And through it all, I’ve learned a few things:
-
The right business will align with your goals. Too many people jump into opportunities without asking the right questions. Franchising is not about buying a job—it’s about building a future that fits your vision.
-
You don’t have to start from scratch. Some of the best business owners I’ve worked with had zero experience in the industries they invested in. What they had was a willingness to learn, follow a proven system, and build something of their own.
-
Relationships are everything. Just like the relationships I built led me to a new career, the relationships you form in franchising—whether with a franchisor, other owners, or mentors—will be key to your success.
-
Control is priceless. When I was laid off, I had no say in my future. Now, I get to help people take control of theirs, choosing a business that fits their goals, not someone else’s agenda.
