Intuition is often thought to be a female trait, unreasoned even untrustworthy. Yet, Albert Einstein, the famous theoretical physicist who developed the theory of relativity said, “The only real valuable thing is intuition.” So perhaps it isn’t so foolish to consider listening to your gut, when exploring a franchise opportunity.

Ideally, you want the franchise company you partner with to have the same style, values, ethics and outlook.

If you’re a seasoned business person and prefer an emerging brand so you can make a bigger contribution, you could be unhappy if their management team doesn’t embrace suggestions from their franchisees.

Let’s say you’re a hard-charging individual and want to maximize revenue opportunities. You might not be happy with a franchise that isn’t up to date with their technology or marketing.

If you wouldn’t enjoy sitting on a cross-country flight with anyone from the franchise company’s management team, chances are it is not a good fit for you. Remember, the franchise itself may be excellent, but that doesn’t mean it’s an automatic fit for you.
